I had the same problem as you (but I'm using Windows 2008 x86 32-bit).
Solved it by moving pike.exe from "C:\Program Files\Pike\bin\pike.exe" to
"C:\Pike\bin\pike.exe".
Maybe it was the space in the path that caused the error?
