Turns out I was specifying a non-existent directory for the files for  
this site.

Didn't complain or give me an error like it normally does.  Usually  
says something like "whatever/whatever/ is not a directory".

Bug maybe?  Seems like there should be some basic error checking to  
see if the directory exists?
